Inclusive Hiking, Mobility & Nature-Based Wellbeing

EQUAL Lebanon leads a structured inclusive hiking and outdoor mobility program, organizing two hikes per month in partnership with local groups to ensure persons with visual impairment can safely and confidently experience nature in an accessible, supportive environment.

These adapted outings strengthen orientation and mobility skills, build self-confidence, and encourage teamwork while bringing together persons with visual impairment and sighted participants. Beyond recreation, the hikes foster meaningful connections, partnerships, and friendships, naturally raising awareness and breaking down physical and social barriers. Through shared movement and collective experiences in nature, participants enhance wellbeing, autonomy, and a sense of belonging—demonstrating that inclusion flourishes where accessibility, human connection, and shared experiences meet.
